The World Walks for Water & Sanitation

"The World Walks for Water and Sanitation is a global event demanding action to address the world's largest crisis - water and sanitation.
Millions of people walk great distances each day to collect water. Billions have no safe place to go to the toilet and are forced to walk into fields to defecate, risking assault and compromising their dignity. Unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation means children have to miss school and are dying needlessly from disease caused by contaminated water. Ending the water and sanitation crisis would help break the poverty cycle, would increase school attendance, and save lives.
From 17-25 March 2012, thousands of people across the globe will walk together to demand political change. The walks will take place around World Water Day, 22 March."

Getting to Zero

"The beginning of the end of AIDS starts with you"

"The beginning of the end of AIDS starts with you". This is the slogan of a campaign by ONE and (RED), two organizations fighting against AIDS. Some of their objectives are by 2015, to be able to provide treatment to the millions more who need it, drastically reduce new infections, and virtually end the transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies.
2011 marks the 30th anniversary of AIDS. Today - December 1st - is World AIDS Day.
The (2015)QUILT is a symbol of their struggle. It's a piece of digital artwork from people all over the world who are fighting for the first AIDS free generation in 30 years. You have the chance to create and share your own panel. join me, along with millions of ONE and (RED) supporters and create your own panel on the (2015)QUILT.
And, as a bonus, you get to download a Christmas song by the Killers for free.
